What are Pokémon ex?

These are special Pokémon with high amounts of HP and powerful attacks or Abilities. When your opponent’s Pokémon ex is Knocked Out, you obtain 2 points (the first player to obtain 3 points wins).

A powerful Basic Pokémon that can play a key role for your Metal-type Pokémon!

Dialga ex (included in Space-Time Smackdown: Dialga)

You can use its Metallic Turbo attack to attach 2 Metal Energy to your Benched Pokémon, so use it in tandem with your Pokémon that have attacks that require lots of Energy. While it supports your other Pokémon, it can also do heavy damage on its own with its Heavy Impact attack.

Card that works well with Dialga ex

Melmetal (included in Genetic Apex: Charizard)

Setting up for powerful attacks like Heavy Impact that require 4 Energy can be accomplished quickly with Dialga ex’s Metallic Turbo attack. You can then Knock Out your opponent’s Basic Pokémon or strong Evolution Pokémon with a single strike!

Meltan (included in Genetic Apex: Charizard)
The order of Evolution is Meltan then Melmetal.

A simultaneous attack on all of your opponent’s Pokémon!

Palkia ex (included in Space-Time Smackdown: Palkia)

Its powerful Dimensional Storm attack requires discarding 3 Energy, but does 150 damage to your opponent’s Active Pokémon. On top of that, it does 20 damage to each of their Benched Pokémon, making it difficult for your opponent to prepare them for battle.

Cards that work well with Palkia ex

Manaphy (included in Space-Time Smackdown: Palkia)

Set up your Benched Palkia ex by attaching Water Energy to it with Manaphy’s Oceanic Gift attack.

Vaporeon (included in Mythical Island)

With Vaporeon’s Wash Out Ability, you can move Energy you attached with Manaphy’s attack to your Active Pokémon.

Evolution

Eevee (included in Space-Time Smackdown: Dialga and Space-Time Smackdown: Palkia)
The order of Evolution is Eevee then Vaporeon.

Greninja (included in Genetic Apex: Charizard)

Its Water Shuriken Ability can do damage to your opponent’s Pokémon whether Greninja is in the Active Spot or on the Bench. You can combine this with Palkia ex’s Dimensional Storm attack to Knock Out your opponent’s Benched Pokémon.

The order of Evolution is Froakie, Frogadier, then Greninja.

Pachirisu ex (included in Space-Time Smackdown: Dialga)

If you attach a Pokémon Tool to it and use its Sparking Gadget attack, you can quickly do 80 damage.

Card that works well with Pachirisu ex

Magnezone (included in Space-Time Smackdown: Dialga and Space-Time Smackdown: Palkia)

If Pachirisu ex is Knocked Out, then it’s Magnezone’s turn. Use Magneton’s Volt Charge Ability for a few turns to attach Lightning Energy to it, then evolve into Magnezone. With its powerful attack, you can turn the tide of battle!

Pokémon Tools newly released!

Rocky Helmet (included in Space-Time Smackdown: Palkia)

You can attach this to your high-HP Pachirisu ex to do damage to your opponent’s Pokémon while enduring their attacks. As damage is done with Rocky Helmet, Knock Out your opponent’s Pokémon with your Pachirisu ex’s Sparking Gadget attack that does more damage.

Cyrus (included in Space-Time Smackdown: Palkia)

Your opponent retreating their damaged Pokémon to their Bench is an opportunity for Cyrus—switch that Pokémon back into the Active Spot and go for a Knock Out. You can turn the tide of battle depending on which of your opponent’s Pokémon you switch in to the Active Spot!

The more powerful the opponent, the more power unleashed!

Gallade ex (included in Space-Time Smackdown: Dialga)

Its Energized Blade attack does more damage depending on how much Energy is attached to your opponent’s Active Pokémon. You can do heavy damage all at once against your opponent’s powerful Pokémon.

Card that works well with Gallade ex

Lucario (included in Space-Time Smackdown: Dialga)

It has an Ability that increases damage from attacks by your Fighting Pokémon! You can further increase the damage done by Gallade ex’s powerful attack.

Riolu (included in Space-Time Smackdown: Dialga)
The order of Evolution is Riolu then Lucario.

Pokémon Tools newly released!

Giant Cape (included in Space-Time Smackdown: Dialga)

You can attach this to increase Gallade ex’s HP to 190. Endure your opponent’s attacks and use its powerful Energized Blade attack consecutively.

Decks that make the most of Supporter cards

Cynthia (included in Space-Time Smackdown: Palkia)

An exceptional strength that increases the damage of Garchomp’s and Togekiss’s powerful attacks by 50.

Cards that work well with Cynthia

Garchomp (included in Space-Time Smackdown: Palkia)

As you fine-tune your hand using its Reckless Shearing Ability, look for a chance to use its Dragon Claw attack. If you can combine Cynthia’s effect, you can ultimately do 150 damage!

The order of Evolution is Gible, Gabite, then Garchomp.

Its Overdrive Smash attack does more damage if you use it in succession. Try aiming to do 170 damage by combining it with Cynthia!

A Pokémon that allows a new way to play

Porygon-Z (included in Space-Time Smackdown: Palkia)

Using its Buggy Beam attack will cause your opponent’s Energy Zone to generate a random Energy type on their next turn. This can be advantageous if your opponent’s Pokémon require specific Energy types.
